Vincent Malainy was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in June 2026. Judge Malainy earned a Bachelor of Science in 2013 from Eastern Michigan University and a Juris Doctor in 2016 from the Michael E. Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University. From February 2023 to May 2026, he served as an assistant counsel in the Office of General Counsel for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service at the Department of War in Indianapolis. From January 2017 to July 2022, he served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Army in the following assignments/locations: military justice advisor, administrative law attorney, legal assistance attorney, Fort Bliss, Texas; command judge advocate, Paktia, Afghanistan; and trial defense counsel, Fort Hood, Texas. Judge Malainy is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.

Education: Judge Malainy earned a Bachelor of Science in 2013 from Eastern Michigan University and a Juris Doctor in 2016 from the Michael E.
