Official biography
Oren Gleich was appointed as a temporary immigration judge to begin hearing cases in October 2025. Judge Gleich earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2000 from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Juris Doctor in 2006 from the Georgetown University Law Center. From 2023 to 2025, he served as a senior trial counsel with the New York Regional Office of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. From 2018 to 2023, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn and Central Islip, New York. From 2016 to 2018, he mobilized as a defense counsel for the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps Reserve in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. From 2011 to 2016, he served as an assistant district attorney at the New York County District Attorney's Office. From 2007 to 2011, he served on active duty as a judge advocate in the U.S. Army JAG Corps in Camp Casey, South Korea, and Vilseck, Germany. Since 2011, Judge Gleich has continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve JAG Corps and currently holds the rank of lieutenant colonel and most recently assigned as a military judge. Judge Gleich is a member of the New York State Bar.
