Michelle L. Lakomy was appointed as an Immigration Judge to begin heari ng cases in October 2022. Judge Lakomy earned a Bachelor of Science in 1994 from Rutgers College and a Juris Doctor in 1997 from Rutgers School of Law-Newark. From 2018 to 2022, she served as Resident Legal Advisor at the Offi ce of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assist ance and Training (OPDAT), Department of Justice, at the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, Albani a, and from 2012 to 2018, she served as Resident Legal Advisor at the OPDAT office at the U.S. Embassyin Pristina, Kosovo. From 2011 to 2012, she served as Civil Response Corps International Rule of Law Advisor at the OPDAT office in Washington, D.C. From 1999 to 2011, she served as an assistant prosecutor at the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Jerse y Ci ty, New Jers ey. From 1997 to 1999, she was an associate attorney at Shea & Novy, Attorneys-at-Law. Judge Lakomy is a member of the N ew J ersey State Bar and the N ew York State Bar.

Education: Judge Lakomy earned a Bachelor of Science in 1994 from Rutgers College and a Juris Doctor in 1997 from Rutgers School of Law-Newark.

Bar admission: Judge Lakomy is a member of the N ew J ersey State Bar and the N ew York State Bar.
