Mary Foster was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Foster earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1997 from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor in 2000 from the DePaul University College of Law. From August 2022 to May 2026, she served as the chief assistant prosecutor with the Cass County Prosecutor's Office in Cassopolis, Michigan. From August 2000 to July 2022, she served as an assistant state's attorney in Chicago. Judge Foster is a member of the Illinois State Bar and the State Bar of Michigan.

Education: Judge Foster earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1997 from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor in 2000 from the DePaul University College of Law.

Bar admission: Judge Foster is a member of the Illinois State Bar and the State Bar of Michigan.
