Official biography

Lisa M. Strader was appointed as a temporary immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Strader earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1994 from the University of Cincinnati, a Juris Doctor in 1998 from the Capital University Law School, and a Master of Laws in Dispute Resolution projected in 2026 from the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. From November 2023 to May 2026, she served as senior assistant district counsel for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the following locations: Fort Worth District, Texas; and Omaha District, Nebraska. From April 2017 to November 2023, she served as assistant attorney general for the State of Ohio Attorney General's Office in Columbus, Ohio. From October 2002 to April 2017, she was the founder of her private practice in Columbus, Ohio. From November 1999 to October 2002, she was an associate managing attorney at a law firm in Columbus, Ohio. Judge Strader is a member of the Ohio Bar.

Education: Judge Strader earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1994 from the University of Cincinnati, a Juris Doctor in 1998 from the Capital University Law School, and a Master of Laws in Dispute Resolution projected in 2026 from the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law.

Bar admission: Judge Strader is a member of the Ohio Bar.
