Official biography

Keira A. Poellet was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Poellet earned a Bachelor of Science in 1999 from Marquette University, a Juris Doctor in 2005 from the Whittier College School of Law, and a Master of Laws in 2010 from the University of Nebraska College of Law. From July 2022 to March 2025, she was general counsel, deputy director of staff, and principal analyst at Phaedrus Engineering. From August 2005 to June 2022, she served as an attorney with the U.S. Air Force in nine different assignment locations, including deploying to Southwest Asia. From July 1999 to August 2002, she served as an acquisitions officer at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. In 2022, she retired at the rank of lieutenant colonel after 23 years of active duty. Judge Poellet is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

Education: Judge Poellet earned a Bachelor of Science in 1999 from Marquette University, a Juris Doctor in 2005 from the Whittier College School of Law, and a Master of Laws in 2010 from the University of Nebraska College of Law.

Bar admission: Judge Poellet is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
