Jennifer S. Wells was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Wells earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2007 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Juris Doctor in 2011 from the Liberty University School of Law. From April 2020 to April 2026, she served as an assistant attorney general with the South Carolina Attorney General's Office. From September 2014 to January 2020, she served as an assistant district attorney with the Watauga County District Attorney's Office, in Boone, North Carolina. From December 2012 to August 2014, she served as the domestic violence and sexual assault prosecutor in Office in Haywood County, in Waynesville, North Carolina. Judge Wells is a member of the North Carolina Bar and South Carolina Bar.

Education: Judge Wells earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2007 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Juris Doctor in 2011 from the Liberty University School of Law.

Bar admission: Judge Wells is a member of the North Carolina Bar and South Carolina Bar.
