Official biography

Jared L. Grimmer was appointed as an immigration judge in May 2026 after serving as a temporary immigration judge at the Kansas City Immigration Court from October 2025 to April 2026. Judge Grimmer earned a Bachelor of Science in 1995 from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) and a Juris Doctorate in 2000 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. From 2022 to 2025, he served in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Reserves at various military bases across the world. From 2015 to 2022, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney in Las Vegas, where he was assigned primarily white collar and immigration cases. From 2001 to 2014, he served as a U.S. Air Force JAG, deploying to Iraq in 2010. Judge Grimmer is a m em ber of the Missouri Bar.

Education: Judge Grimmer earned a Bachelor of Science in 1995 from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) and a Juris Doctorate in 2000 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
