James A. Klinedinst was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in March 2026. Judge Klinedinst earned a Bachelor of Science in 2005 from Old Dominion University, a Master of Education in 2007 from Regent University, a Master of Arts in 2014 from the University of South Florida, and a Juris Doctor in 2015 from Western Michigan Thomas M. Cooley Law School. From October 2015 to October 2025, he served as an assistant staff judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force in the following locations: the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado; Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia; Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan; and Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Judge Klinedinst holds the rank of major in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Judge Klinedinst is a member of the Florida Bar.
