Official biography

Jaime Poarch was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Poarch earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, double majoring in Anthropology and Philosophy in 2011 from Texas Tech University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence i n 2018 from South Texas College of Law Houston. From October 2025 to April 2026, she served as assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Ex ecutive Office for Immigration Review, Office of Policy Sec urity, in Houston. From May 2019 to October 2025, she served as an assistant district attorney with the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office in Conroe, Texas. From August 2018 to October 2018, she was an intern in the juvenile division with the Fort Bend District Attorney's Office in Richmond, Texas. In the summer of 2017, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Larry Weiman and the Honorable Mike Engelhart at the Harris County Civil District Court in Houston. From January 2012 to May 2012, she served as a congressional intern for the Honorable Congressman Michael McCaul. Judge Poarch is a member of the Oklahoma Bar and the State Bar of Texas.
