Official biography

Fayaz Habib was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2024. Judge Habib earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2010 from the University of Georgia and a Juris Doctor in 2014 from Georgia State University College of Law. From 2020 to 2024, he served as deputy chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in New York City. From 2018 to 2020, he served as an assistant chief counsel with OPLA, ICE, DHS, where he also served as legal counsel to Homeland Security Investigations, New York. From 2014 to 2018, he served as an assistant chief counsel with OPLA, ICE, DHS, in Lumpkin, Georgia, and New York City. Judge Habib is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.

Education: Judge Habib earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2010 from the University of Georgia and a Juris Doctor in 2014 from Georgia State University College of Law.

Bar admission: Judge Habib is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
