Denise Kallas was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Kallas earned Bachelors of Arts in Economics and in Politics in 1992 from Washington and Lee University and a Juris Doctorate in 1995 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. From April 1997 to April 2026, she was an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office in Pontiac, Michigan. Judge Kallas is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.

Education: Judge Kallas earned Bachelors of Arts in Economics and in Politics in 1992 from Washington and Lee University and a Juris Doctorate in 1995 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Bar admission: Judge Kallas is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
