Official biography
Daniel J. Wright was appointed as an immigration judge to begin he aring cases in May 202 6. Judge Wright earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2010 f rom the University of Georgia and a Ju ris Doctor in 2014 from the University of Georgia School of Law. From October 201 8 to April 2026, he served as a counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (OP LA), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enfor cement (ICE), Department of Homeland Secu rity (DHS), in At lanta. From July 2016 to October 2018, he s erved as an assi stant chief counse l with OPLA, IC E, DHS, in Harlingen, Texas. From December 2014 to June 2016, he w as an associate attorney at Pot ra Law Firm in Suwanee, Georgia. Jud ge Wright is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
Education: Judge Wright earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2010 f rom the University of Georgia and a Ju ris Doctor in 2014 from the University of Georgia School of Law.
