Official biography

Corey A. Combs was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in March 2026. Judge Combs earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2013 from the University at Buffalo and a Juris Doctor in 2016 from George Washington University Law School. From September 2019 to February 2026, he served as an assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in the following locations: Newark, New Jersey (2025- 2026) and New York, New York (2019- 2025). From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a contract attorney in Washington, D.C. Judge Combs is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.

Education: Judge Combs earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2013 from the University at Buffalo and a Juris Doctor in 2016 from George Washington University Law School.

Bar admission: Judge Combs is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
