Official biography

Christopher D. Pineda was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in November 2024. Judge Pineda earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2001 from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master in Public Policy in 2005 from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, and a Juris Doctor in 2009 from the Boston University School of Law. From 2014 to 2024, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas. From 2009 to 2014, he was in private practice at a civil litigation law firm in Brownsville, Texas. Judge Pineda is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

Education: Judge Pineda earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2001 from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master in Public Policy in 2005 from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, and a Juris Doctor in 2009 from the Boston University School of Law.

Bar admission: Judge Pineda is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
