Carey Holliday was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in February 2026. Judge Holliday earned a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1974 from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctorate in 1977 from Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center. From 2016 to January 2026, he practiced immigration law in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. From 2009 to 2015, he served as a workers' compensation judge in Louisiana. From 2006 to 2009, he served as an immigration judge at the Miami Immigration Court. Prior to that, he served for 16 years as a Louisiana state assistant attorney general and was the general counsel for the Louisiana Department of Insurance. Judge Holliday is a member of the Louisiana State Bar.
Education: Judge Holliday earned a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1974 from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctorate in 1977 from Louisiana State University, Paul M.
