Bayleigh J. Pettigrew was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Pettigrew ear ned a Bachelor of Arts in Law, Philosophy, and Rhetoric in 2005 from Stephens College and a Juris Doctor in 2008 from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. From January 2022 to May 2026, she served as a senior attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel ( OCC), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in Long Beach, California. From April 2016 to January 2022, she served as a general attorney with OCC, C BP, DHS, in Long Beach, California. From September 2014 to January 2016, she served as a special assistant U.S. attorney with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of California in Fresno. From October 2012 to August 2013, she served as an associate attorney at Masserman and Ducey in Sherman Oaks, California. From February 2009 to July 2011, she served as an associate attorney at Morris and Associates in Burbank, California. Judge Pettigrew is a member of the State Bar of California.
