Andrew F. Scafidi was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in June 2026. Judge Scafidi earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1995 from Northern Illinois University and a Juris Doctorate in 2001 from Regent University School of Law. From February 2021 to May 2026, he was an administrative law attorney for the U.S. Army in Mountain View, California. From January 2002 to August 2020, he served as an army judge advocate in numerous locations including Fort Knox, Kentucky, Fort Riley, Kansas, and Fort Drum, New York, holding various positions, including deputy staff judge advocate, chief of military justice, senior criminal defense counsel, and part-t im e military magistrate. From August 1987 to August 1992, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Judge Scafidi is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.

Education: Judge Scafidi earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1995 from Northern Illinois University and a Juris Doctorate in 2001 from Regent University School of Law.

Bar admission: Judge Scafidi is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
