Biographie officielle

Robert G. Eastman was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Eastman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Geography in 1990 from the University of Delaware and a Juris Doctor in 1992 from Delaware Law School. From August 2022 to March 2026, he served as an assistant state attorney in the Misdemeanor Trial Division, Office of the State Attorney, in Viera, Florida. From January 2010 to August 2022, he was in private practice in Merritt Island, Florida, focusing on litigation and appellate representation, contracts, and business organizations, including pro bono representation for veterans and individuals with disabilities before federal agencies and courts. From November 2009 to July 2010, he served as assistant to the president at the American College of the Building Arts in Charleston, South Carolina. From June 1997 to November 2009, he served as an international consultant based in Germany, advising firms on environmental compliance, worker safety, labor relations, and immigration regulatory matters. From June 1995 to February 1997, he served as associate director of advocacy for Paralyzed Veterans of America in Washington, D.C. From March 1993 to May 1995, he was a partner at a private law firm in Wilmington, Delaware. Judge Eastman is a member of the Maritime Response Squadron with the Florida State Guard and is an honorably discharged U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Judge Eastman is a member of the Florida Bar, Delaware State Bar, State Bar of Georgia, Maryland State Bar, New Jersey State Bar, Pennsylvania Bar, South Carolina Bar, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
