Biographie officielle

Paul N. Jones was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in March 2026. Judge Jones earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and History in 1995 from Menlo College, a Juris Doctor in 1999 from the University of New Mexico School of Law, a Master of Public Administration in 2000 from the University of New Mexico, and a Master of Laws in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution in 2003 from George Washington University Law School. From February 2025 to March 2026, he served as assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in Dallas and Laredo, Texas. From September 2025 to November 2025, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney with the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Texas, in Alpine, Pecos, and Midland, Texas. From May 2023 to January 2024, he served as senior attorney at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in Austin, Texas. From January 2022 to January 2023, he served as partner at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP in Dallas. From April 2020 to January 2022, he served as senior assistant attorney general at the Texas Attorney General's Office in Austin, Texas. From August 2017 to September 2019, he served as an assistant general counsel with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington D.C. and Dallas. From December 2008 to September 2016, he served as general counsel at the Texas Workforce Commission in Austin, Texas. From September 2007 to November 2008, he served as a litigation attorney at ICE, DHS, in Dallas. From July 2001 to September 2007, he served as a litigation attorney at the National Nuclear Security Administration, Department of Energy, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Washington , D.C . Judge Jones is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, District of Columbia Bar, State Bar of Massachusetts, Mississippi Bar, State Bar of New Mexico, and State Bar of Texas.
