David J. Green was appointed as an immigration judge in May 2026 after serving as a temporary immigration judge at the Fort Worth Immigration Adjudication Center from October 2025 to April 2026. Judge Green earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1993 from Michigan State University, a Juris Doctor in 2001 from North Carolina Central University, a Master of Business Administration in 2006 from Auburn University, a Master of Strategic Studies in 2021 from the U.S. Army War College, and a Master of Laws in 2022 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. From 2018 to April 2025, he served at the U.S. Embassy Jerusalem as director, U.S. Security Coordinator, Security Justice Advisory Directorate (2024- 2025); senior legal advisor - individual mobilization augmentee, for the U.S. Special Operations Command (2022- 2023), staff judge advocate (general counsel) for the 36th Infantry Division (2019- 2022), and the staff judge advocate for the Special Operations Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (2018- 2019) during the defeat of the physical caliphate of ISIS in Syria. Judge Green has served over 25 years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, currently holding the rank of colonel. He began his military service as an infantry officer in the 1- 119th Infantry Battalion (1998) through his current duty as a reserve component deputy legal counsel to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (2026), deploying eight times to combat or conflict zones throughout his career. He has been awarded the Combat Action Badge and the Bronze Star Medal. Judge Green is a m em ber of the North Carolina Bar, the State Bar of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces Bar of the Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court Bar.
