Nancy Nevarez-Myrick was appointed as a temporary immigration judge to begin hearing cases in February 2026. Judge Nevarez-Myrick earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2008 from the University of Loyola Chicago, a Master of Arts in 2013 from the University of Illinois Carbondale, a Juris Doctor in 2016 from Ave Maria School of Law, and Master of Laws in 2017 from the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa. From June 2021 to January 2026, she served as an attorney adviser at the Board of Appeals with the Department of Veteran Affairs in Washington, D.C. From August 2017 to June 2021, she served as a judge advocate with the U.S. Air Force at Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, Georgia, and Buckley Space Force Base, Aurora, Colorado. Since June 2021, Judge Nevarez-Myrick has served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and holds the rank of major. Judge Nevarez-Myrick is a member of the Florida Bar and Illinois State Bar.
