Kyle Pearson was appointed as a temporary immigration judge to begin hearing cases in February 2026. Judge Pearson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1990 from Georgia State University and a Juris Doctor in 1993 from Georgia State University College of Law. From 2022 to 2026, he served as a military judge with the Georgia Army National Guard in Marietta, Georgia. From 2006 to 2026, he served with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in Atlanta, first as deputy executive counsel and then as executive counsel. From 2003 to 2006, he served in the private practice of law with Brock, Calhoun, Wilson and Rogers in Marietta, Georgia. From 1996 to 2003, he served as an assistant attorney general with the Georgia Department of Law in Atlanta. From 1995 to 1996, he served in the private practice of law with Brookins and Cook in Atlanta. From 1994 to 1995, he served as an assistant district attorney in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit in Homer, Georgia. Since 2003, Judge Pearson has been a commissioned officer in the Georgia Army National Guard, including service in various periods of active duty with the U.S. Army. He holds the rank of colonel. Judge Pearson is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
