John P. Fucetola was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in March 2026. Judge Fucetola earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2003 from George Washington University and a Juris Doctor in 2006 from George Washington University Law School. From 2024 to 2026, he served as a counsel at the Office of Chief Counsel, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Department of Justice. From 2022 to 2024, he served as an assistant state's attorney with the State's Attorney's Office for Charles County, Maryland. From 2021 to 2022, he served as an assistant bar counsel with the Office of Bar Counsel, Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland. Prior to this, he served as an assistant state's attorney with the State's Attorney's Office for Prince George's County, Maryland (2020- 2021; 2007-2010). From 2016 to 2020, he served as a magistrate for the Commonwealth of Virginia. From 2014 to 2016, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona. From 2010 to 2014, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. From 2006 to 2007, he served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Craig Iscoe in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Judge Fucetola is a member of the Maryland State Bar.
