Biografía oficial

Jean M. Kilker was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Kilker earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1983 from the University of Rhode Island and a Juris Doctorate in 1989 from California Western School of Law. From September 2021 to April 2025, she served as chief of the General Law Division, Office of Inspector General, Department of Homeland Security, in Washington, D.C. From January 2018 to September 2021, she was an attorney advisor with the Commander Naval Facilities Engineering Command and the Office of the Naval Inspector General, Department of the Navy, in Washington, D.C. From February 2016 to January 2018, she served as counsel, then senior counsel, to the U.S. Senate, Select Committee on Ethics. She also served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2017 with the rank of captain. Her active- duty assignments included trial attorney, criminal law and procedure instructor, staff judge advocate to the Commander Naval Station Pearl Harbor, deputy staff judge advocate to the Superintendent, U.S. Naval Academy, supported the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals, and deployed as the staff judge advocate, commander, Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa. From July 1989 to November 1991, she was a deputy district attorney in Orange County, California. Judge Kilker is a member of the State Bar of California, the District of Columbia Bar, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Education: Judge Kilker earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1983 from the University of Rhode Island and a Juris Doctorate in 1989 from California Western School of Law.
