Bradley R. Burke was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Burke earned a Bachelor of General Studies in 1998 from the University of Kansas and a Juris Doctor in 2001 from the University of Kansas School of Law. From October 2018 to April 2026, he served as the regional director with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, in Kansas City, Missouri. From September 2012 to October 2018, he served as the deputy secretary and chief attorney at the Kansas Department of Labor in Topeka. From January 2011 to January 2013, he served as a chief attorney for the Kansas Juvenile Justice Authority in Topeka. From January 2007 to January 2011, he served as an assistant district attorney and a special assistant U.S. attorney in Johnson County, Kansas. From January 2005 to January 2007, he served as an assistant attorney general in Topeka, Kansas. From May 2001 to January 2005, he served as an assistant district attorney in Douglas County, Kansas. From May 2015 to October 2018, he served as a pro tem municipal court judge in Topeka, and from May 2011 to October 2018, he served as a pro tem municipal court judge in Lawrence, Kansas. Judge Burke is a member of the Kansas Bar, the Federal District Court - District of Kansas Bar, and the U.S. Supreme Court Bar.
