Steven Paul Meredith was appointed as a temporary immigration judge to begin hearing cases in October 2025. Judge Meredith earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2000 from Brigham Young University and a Juris Doctorate in 2007 from Gonzaga University School of Law. He commissioned in the U.S. Navy in 2006 and holds the rank of commander. From 2007 to 2025, he served on active duty and reserve duty in various positions including: legal assistance attorney and command services department head in Naples, Italy (intermittently between 2023- 2025); deputy staff judge advocate, Navy Reserve Region Readiness and Mobilization Command Northwest, Everett, Washington (2020- 2023); deputy staff judge advocate, Navy Region Northwest and Naval Submarine Support Command, Naval Base Kitsap, Washington (intermittently between 2017- 2020); victim's legal counsel, Naval Base Kitsap, Washington (2013- 2016); command judge advocate, Naval Hospital Bremerton, Washington (2010- 2012); special assistant U.S. attorney, Middle District of Florida (2009- 2010); and prosecutor, Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida (2007- 2009). From 2012 to 2025, he adjudicated claims for the Department of Labor in the Seattle and Denver District Offices before moving to a training role at the National Office. Judge Meredith is a member of the Washington State Bar.

Education: Judge Meredith earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2000 from Brigham Young University and a Juris Doctorate in 2007 from Gonzaga University School of Law.

Bar admission: Judge Meredith is a member of the Washington State Bar.
