Jon Paul Calandruccio was appointed as a temporary immigration judge to begin hearing cases in February 2026. Judge Calandruccio earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2002 from Oglethorpe University and a Juris Doctorate in 2008 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. In 2024, he served as an acquisitions attorney at Eglin Air Force Base. From 2021 to 2024, he served as the deputy counsel for Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. Since 2009, Judge Calandruccio has served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force at various locations including Afghanistan, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, Italy, and, most recently as the legal advisor for the 435 Air Ground Operations Wing in Germany. He holds the rank of lieutenant colonel. Judge Calandruccio is a member of the Connecticut Bar and New York State Bar.
