John T. Driscoll

John T. Driscoll was appointed as a temporary immigration judge to begin hearing cases in February 2026. Judge Driscoll earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1995 from the University of California, San Diego, and a Juris Doctor in 1999 from Loyola Law School. From 2000 to January 2026, he practiced municipal law in various capacities as a deputy city attorney with the Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney, and since 2011 he has served as a deputy city attorney with the General Counsel at the Port of Los Angeles. Judge Driscoll has also served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps since 2007 to include assignments in California, Texas, and Louisiana. Judge Driscoll holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, and his awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal. Judge Driscoll is a member of the State Bar of California.

Education: Judge Driscoll earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1995 from the University of California, San Diego, and a Juris Doctor in 1999 from Loyola Law School.
