Jason Hermus

Jason Hermus was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in March 2026. Judge Hermus earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in 1994 from the University of North Texas, and a Juris Doctor in 2002 from Southern Methodist University. From November 2002 to February 2026, he served as an assistant district attorney with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office in Dallas in various positions including as a trial prosecutor in numerous county and district courts, a division chief of the Public Integrity Division, chief of the Homicide Intake Unit, and in the last six years he served as a legal division director over the Gang/Community Response Division, the Organized Crime Division, the Specialized Crime Division, the Fraud and White Collar Crime Units, and the Elder Abuse Unit. Judge Hermus is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

Education: Judge Hermus earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in 1994 from the University of North Texas, and a Juris Doctor in 2002 from Southern Methodist University.

Bar admission: Judge Hermus is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
