Anthony Brown was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in November 2024. Judge Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1973 from Morehouse College, a Master of Arts in 1974 from the University of Arkansas, and a Juris Doctor in 1979 from the University of North Carolina. From 2009 to 2024, he served as a district court judge for the Seventh District of North Carolina. From 1988 to 2009, he was a personal injury and criminal defense attorney in private practice in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. From 1982 to 1988, he was an assistant district attorney for the Seventh District of North Carolina. From 1981 to 1982, he was in private practice in Oxford, North Carolina. From 1980 to 1981, he was a project director for the North Carolina Governor's Advocacy Council on Children and Youth. Judge Brown is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the North Carolina Bar, and the New York State Bar.

Education: Judge Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1973 from Morehouse College, a Master of Arts in 1974 from the University of Arkansas, and a Juris Doctor in 1979 from the University of North Carolina.
